Notes from the Nurse

Reminder to parents:  registration forms for the FREE flu clinic that will be held here at school must be turned in by Monday, 9/11.  Health Heroes will be here on Tuesday, 9/12, to administer flu vaccines. Only the injectable form of the vaccine will be given this year, so all students are eligible to receive it.

Please review our uniform dress policy. Pants, skirts, and shorts are to be blue, black, or khaki (tan). Shirts must have a color and no large logos present. Small logos, such as the Izod alligator, or the Polo horseman, are acceptable. Dresses, skirts, and shorts should extend beyond your student's longest finger when hands are held against the thigh, or no more than 2 inches above the knee. Leggings are only acceptable under a skirt, dress, or shorts.

Lost-n-Found is growing!  Please remind your student to come the office and search our lost and found collection if they've reported a missing item. We have several jackets and a few lunch boxes in the bin. Any item not claimed by Friday, 10/06, will be discarded.

This Monday is nationally known as Patriot Day in remembrance of September 11, 2001.  Our 4th graders, led by Mrs. Bonney our music teacher, will perform for our Liberty Park students.  4th grade families are invited to a special presentation that afternoon to celebrate Patriot Day at Liberty Park.

Message from the Principal

Liberty Park Families,

Thank you to everyone that came out to our Super Why Family Literacy Night last week.  We appreciate all of our LP family involvement and hope that you had a great evening with your family!
This coming Friday is our fundraiser kick off!  We partner with the PTA to have just one large fundraising event that supports all of our school and student activities.  We are working with Yankee Candle Fundraising this year and will receive 40% of all sales.  You can help support this fundraiser in 3 convenient ways via an app, email, or catalog.  All of the information will come home with your student this Friday.  We ask that students do not go door to door selling items.  We tell students to be safe and only sell to relatives, friends, neighbors and parents' co-workers.  Thank you in advance for supporting this fundraising effort.  Please know that every single sale helps our school and students!

Have a great weekend and as always, I thank you for your continued support of Liberty Park Elementary!

Your Principal,

Jason Brooks

Each school year we have a fundraising drive to help us raise money to support both our school and PTA events and budgets.  This year, we wanted to share that the LP (school & PTA) fundraiser drive will be held September 15th—September 29th.

This year, we will again be selling Yankee Candles.  This was a very popular and successful fundraiser in the past and we hope that you are able to help us raise money for our students and school!

SCHOOL DISTRICT PUBLICATIONS/NEWS MEDIA USE
The occasion may arise when the school district wants to recognize your child or your child's school. This may include your child's photo, your child's name or your child's work in district publications, newsletters, on school district websites, and in electronic/social media or in staff training videos.  We may also want to tell the media (including newspapers, television, and radio) about your child's achievements. We never knowingly release information about a student to anyone who wants to use it for commercial/political purposes.  However, we will honor your request to not include your child in these types of recognitions if you notify your child's school office in writing that you do not want this type of information released.
The mission of Liberty Park, in partnership with its entire community, will educate each student by providing a positive, challenging, and enriched learning environment that enables each student to become a life-long learner and a responsible citizen in an increasingly global society.
