Message from the Principal
Liberty Park Families,
Thank you to everyone that came out to our Super Why Family Literacy Night last week. We appreciate all of our LP family involvement and hope that you had a great evening with your family!
This coming Friday is our fundraiser kick off! We partner with the PTA to have just one large fundraising event that supports all of our school and student activities. We are working with Yankee Candle Fundraising this year and will receive 40% of all sales. You can help support this fundraiser in 3 convenient ways via an app, email, or catalog. All of the information will come home with your student this Friday. We ask that students do not go door to door selling items. We tell students to be safe and only sell to relatives, friends, neighbors and parents' co-workers. Thank you in advance for supporting this fundraising effort. Please know that every single sale helps our school and students!
Have a great weekend and as always, I thank you for your continued support of Liberty Park Elementary!
Your Principal,
Jason Brooks

Each school year we have a fundraising drive to help us raise money to support both our school and PTA events and budgets. This year, we wanted to share that the LP (school & PTA) fundraiser drive will be held September 15th—September 29th.
This year, we will again be selling Yankee Candles. This was a very popular and successful fundraiser in the past and we hope that you are able to help us raise money for our students and school!

Dress Code Reminder: jeans/jeggings/denim pants of any color may only be worn to school on special occasions. Students will bring home a "ticket" the day before jeans will be allowed. Black or gray jeans/jeggings are not uniform wear and we may contact you to bring uniform pants/shorts/skirt/dress to school so your student may change clothes. Also, young ladies should not be wearing leggings as pants, regardless of the length of their shirt. Leggings should only be worn under a skirt or shorts. Acceptable attire for bottoms is pants (slacks/khakis) /shorts/skirts/dresses in black, light or navy blue, and tan. With warmer weather headed our way, we'd also like to remind parents that open-toed or open-heeled shoes (sandals/flip-flops) are not permitted. Booties or tennis shoes with heels higher than 1" are discouraged as injury may occur during gym or recess.
Student Uniform Policy - LP Dress Code - The students uniformly dressed policy is available in the Parent/Student Handbook as well as our school website. A link can also be found in the Helpful Links section of this newsletter.
If uniform assistance is needed, please do not hesitate to contact our dean, Kathy Hench, at 317-532-1850.

SCHOOL DISTRICT PUBLICATIONS/NEWS MEDIA USE
The occasion may arise when the school district wants to recognize your child or your child's school. This may include your child's photo, your child's name or your child's work in district publications, newsletters, on school district websites, and in electronic/social media or in staff training videos. We may also want to tell the media (including newspapers, television, and radio) about your child's achievements. We never knowingly release information about a student to anyone who wants to use it for commercial/political purposes. However, we will honor your request to not include your child in these types of recognitions if you notify your child's school office in writing that you do not want this type of information released.
