Message from the Principal

Liberty Park Families,

A student is considered chronically absent if they miss only two days of school per month, whether the absences are excused or unexcused. This is true for children as early as elementary school, when they are at a higher risk of falling behind in reading. Even one year of chronic absence can cause a child to fall behind academically and decrease a child’s chances of graduating from high school, which can have long-term consequences on their financial independence, physical well-being and mental health.

While some challenges to a child’s attendance are unavoidable, it’s important to understand the impact of each absence.  Our school wide improvement goal is to have 97% or higher student attendance.  So far this year we are at 96.5%.  I plan to post monthly attendance percentages on this newsletter to keep our families informed.   I would encourage you to check out this quick video below as well as the website for some great information
Have a great fall break and as always, I thank you for your continued support of Liberty Park Elementary!

Your Principal,

Jason Brooks

It's time for Liberty Park's Annual Canned Food Drive!

LP is again partnering with Kona Ice for an exciting competition and food drive involving the local schools, called Cans for Kona. All items collected will be donated to the Liberty Park/Raymond Park Intermediate Thanksgiving Outreach Program.   Additional items will be donated to the Warren Township Sunny Day food bank at Highlander Park.

We will be collecting food items from November 1st to November 17th.   We will be collecting any non-perishable food items like: canned meals, stews, soups, tuna, ravioli, lasagna, peanut butter, canned vegetables, cereal, rice, pasta, dried beans, fruit cups, dried fruit, applesauce, rice, granola bars, etc.

All students who bring 2 items will win a free prize from Kona Ice!.  The grade level that brings in the most items also recieves a reward!
Liberty Park’s goal is to beat last year’s total and collect 3,000 canned items!
Together we can make a difference!

Congrats to Jayden Williams from Mrs. Carnagua's class and Teiajah Williams from Mrs. L. Davis's class for guessing the exact weight of our pumpkin!  110 pounds!  They won a large Kona Ice and a McDonald's lunch with Mr. Brooks!

“Liberty Park Elementary”
The occasion may arise when the school district wants to recognize your child or your child's school. This may include your child's photo, your child's name or your child's work in district publications, newsletters, on school district websites, and in electronic/social media or in staff training videos.  We may also want to tell the media (including newspapers, television, and radio) about your child's achievements. We never knowingly release information about a student to anyone who wants to use it for commercial/political purposes.  However, we will honor your request to not include your child in these types of recognitions if you notify your child's school office in writing that you do not want this type of information released.
The mission of Liberty Park, in partnership with its entire community, will educate each student by providing a positive, challenging, and enriched learning environment that enables each student to become a life-long learner and a responsible citizen in an increasingly global society.
